Melbourne Farmers Markets (MFM) is a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to Victorian food and producers, regional food cultures, seasonal produce, biodiversity, sustainable farming practices and strengthening relationships between the consumer and the producer.

We operate seven (…and counting) vibrant farmers’ markets across Melbourne.

We are embarking on many exciting projects for 2018 and as a result, we are looking to expand the MFM team!

Position Description |  Questions

In a nutshell: Casual part-time position, equivalent to two days (approx. 18hrs) per week. Consisting of one week day in the office (Alphington) and one day managing a market (location yet to be determined).

Start Date: Immediate

MFM is seeking an enthusiastic, creative volunteer who is looking to demonstration and hone their social media and communication skills.

The volunteer position will primarily work with the MFM Communications Coordinator with tasks including but not limited to: generating social media content including our weekly & monthly subscriber e-news, live & scheduled social media posting, phone calls to stallholders to find out about market day specials, farming & production stories, and the generation of news articles and blog posts for the website.

Preferred experience: sound experience with social media platforms and relevant apps; Facebook for business, Instagram, Twitter, Mailchimp, WordPress, Canva, Later etc

Time Commitment: between 4 -8 hours / week, preferably including some weekend market visits

Starting Date: Immediately!

We work with 300+ farming & food businesses, providing you with the opportunity to connect, network and possible source further opportunities with organisations and groups in the local food sector.
