Our Team

Belle Poole

Stallholder Coordinator

Belle is the person you’ll most likely get on the line when you call the MFM office. She wrangles stallholders and attends to general enquiries. She has a side-hustle called Mia & Belle throwing good time wine parties showcasing natural wines and local producers.

Christine Furness

Finance Manager

Chris makes our not for profit tick, working remotely from her beef farm in South Gippsland. Her background is in banking and her side hustle is as an AirBnb host.

Market Manager & Assistant

Jess has a Bachelor of Food Studies from William Angliss and is passionate about fair food systems and waste. You’ll most likely see her at Coburg Farmers Market assisting Prue or running the show when she’s not around.

Market Manager & all-rounder

Julian is a foodie who you’ll find most weekends at one of our markets. He enjoys cooking, especially with market produce, and loves to display highlights of the market at the front gate. He also looks after our online Marketplace.

Market Manager

Kirsty manages our weekly Sunday market at our home base in Alphington. She’s combined her love of nature and her studies in Urban Horticulture and Environmental Sustainability to create  Shady Lady, providing garden maintenance and design services and help with indoor greenery, sustainability and food production. Not surprisingly, we elicited her help to create the very beautiful garden at the front of our Alphington site.

Mia Halse

Communications, social media, and market day assistant

Mia is the other half of the aforementioned Mia & Belle operation, but when she’s on the clock for MFM you’ll most likely find her at Carlton FM or promoting all thing Vic produce on our socials channels. Outside of the markets Mia loves to blitz around on her bicycle, drink natural wine (of course) plus do a bit of marketing for the Comedy and Fringe Festivals on the side.

Miranda Sharp

Founder and Director

Miranda started Melbourne Farmers Markets back in 2002 with our market at Collingwood Children’s Farm. She came to the farmers market world with 25 years of experience in the food industry as a chef, caterer and food journo and her staff are ever grateful for the lunchtime feasts she whips up. These days Miranda is still as hands-on as ever but she has a few more people helping her out…

Prue Clark

Market Manager & all-rounder

Prue is a theatre director who got involved with Coburg Farmers Market when she moved to the suburb a few years back, quickly becoming a passionate advocate for all things Coburg. She directs our Saturday weekly market there and helps out behind the scenes doing social media, stallholder liaison and whatever else Scott and Min throw at her.

Operations Manager

Scott blends his background in agriculture and events in his role at Melbourne Farmers Markets making sure the markets tick over and everyone knows what they’re doing. He also likes wine.

Sharon dots the i’s and crosses the t’s and helps make our less harebrained schemes happen.  Also working remotely from South Gippsland, Sharon’s other job is the hands on management of a beef farming operation.
