FOOD DEPOT Coordinator

Position details: Fixed term part-time (6 months) 30.4 hours per week, based on 3 days per week Monday – Friday and either a Saturday or Sunday each week
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Hourly pay rate: $28.91 per hour inclusive of penalties and allowances + superannuation
Primary Location: 2 Wingrove St, Alphington

Melbourne Farmers Markets (MFM) needs an outstanding project coordinator to oversee the development of our new food depot and hub in Alphington. The MFM Depot will provide additional resources and services for small-scale regional food producers, farmers,growers and makers to reach their customers – both individuals and other businesses.

We need someone who can engage and connect with our producers in a genuine way and develop additional channels for them to reach their customers. You’ll need to have an understanding of the food sector in Victoria and experience working with farmers would be favoured. You’ll need to have a good understanding of supply-chain logistics, sales platforms and be just as comfortable on the phone doing admin as you are being hands on in a small warehouse or chiller. We haven’t built everything yet, so someone with a keen eye for project coordination working with our small but hands-on team will be highly regarded.
