Because of the current lockdown restrictions in Melbourne, the scheduled farmers market at Collingwood Children’s Farm will not run this Saturday. Collingwood Children’s Farm is unable to open to the public during lockdown because it’s classified as a zoo, and due to the uncertainty around the end of the current circuit-breaker lockdown we can’t move forward with our usual planning.
Instead, however, we’ll host the Collingwood market at our Carlton site (Carlton North Primary School, Corner of O’Grady Street and Canning Street) between 8am and 1pm.
In order to continue operating at this time we have to abide by government protocols, so we thank you for your understanding and patience. Please find all of the government-mandated protocols below.
📌 Sign in using the Service Victoria QR signs provided.
📌 Wear a mask at our markets (unless you have a medical exemption).
📌 Stay at home if you feel unwell.
📌 Use the hand sanitiser provided.
📌 Continue to check the list of exposure sites. And if you have attended any of these sites then follow government guidelines and do not attend our markets.
In addition to the above, we strongly encourage all market-goers to bring their credit/debit cards for purchases. Entry to the markets is by tap-and-go donation only, and many, if not all, stallholders will not accept cash on the day.
You will notice a few further changes at our markets this weekend, including:
📎 Food cannot be consumed on-site: ready-to-eat food is for takeaway only.
📎 Food samples will not be available.
📎 Hand sanitiser will be readily available: please make use of it.
📎 Handling/selecting your own fruit and veg is no longer allowed: please ask the relevant stallholder for any help you need with making your selection.
📎 On-site toilet facilities will be closed to the public.
Melbourne Farmers Markets respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the Land on which Collingwood FM is held, the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to them, their culture and their Elders, past, present and future.
