I was born in Tokyo, Japan and moved to Melbourne in June 2015 to undertake my post-graduate study in Environment with a focus on Sustainable Food Systems. Cooking is one of my top three favourite activities and I love using seasonal fresh produce from local producers in my cooking. I’m also interested in issues concerning food waste. I undertook an internship placement with NASAA (National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia) in summer 2017 as a part of my University curriculum. My dream is to publish recipe book that focuses on dishes using seasonal fresh produce and minimising food waste.

Chikako is volunteering with Melbourne Farmers Market and will be sharing family recipes, food ideas and with us over the coming months.
