Melbourne Farmers Markets (MFM) regret to advise that due to extenuating circumstances, the Alphington Farmers’ Market at the Melbourne Innovation Centre has been postponed until Sunday 6th May.
The site of the Alphington Farmers’ Market is still awaiting removal of 80 tonnes of concrete, which MFM had anticipated being removed well in advance of the proposed 25th March launch. An interim plan for the Alphington Farmers’ Market in March-April to use the Alphington Train Station carpark was in place with the permit approved by Metro Trains. However, due to the escalation of the State Government Level Crossing Removal Project across Victoria, the carpark is now unavailable for use of a weekly Sunday farmers’ market.
MFM would like to thank Metro Trains for their support of the monthly Fairfield Farmers’ Market that has been temporarily operating at the Alphington Train Station carpark throughout January and February.
This Saturday 17th March, our final Fairfield Farmers’ Market will be held at the Melbourne Innovation Centre, 2 Wingrove Street, Alphington.
From Saturday 21st April (3rd Saturday of the month) ongoing, you can find many of the stallholder cohort who attend the current Fairfield Farmers’ Market at Carlton North Primary School. From April, Carlton Farmers Market operate fortnightly on the first and third Saturday of the month ongoing.
We know this has been a confusing time but we hope you’ll roll with us and continue to support our markets and producers. For further information on market dates and locations, please visit;
